Welcome to the story.
Khana {Aymara}: clarity & light
For generations, producers in Bolivia have worked to care for their land and communities, selling their beans locally and abroad. Many came to know all too well, though, the pain of empty promises from middle-buyers while also feeling the disproportionate impact of social inequities and climate change on their communities.
So, the people began to rally.
Cooperativa Bio-Arcoíris - Khana’s partners on the ground in Bolivia - was born with the support of experienced producers, professional baristas and tasters, ecological experts, social workers, project managers, and more. Khana Collective grew out of the desire from co-op members to branch beyond Bolivia to fulfill its vision for thriving local communities and responsible international partnership.
Khana Collective is a U.S.-based non-profit* formed in 2026 to catalyze the work of farmers and partners on the ground in Bolivia, but the experiences of its partners stretch back generations and dream far into the future.
Khana exists to cultivate community and ecological resilience through the power of partnership, especially through socioeconomic empowerment and community development initiatives in coffee-growing regions of Bolivia and beyond.
Khana exists to advance and elevate responsible relationships between coffee-buying individuals and companies in the global minority to coffee-producing communities of the global majority.
Khana exists to celebrate and honor the history, fruits, and labor of communities through dignified representation and partner education and relationship.
That’s where you fit in.

The organization’s programs are three-pronged: Economic, Social, and Ecological.
Khana’s farmer partners receive regular technical assistance and training on their lands, access to new technology and resources, and are actively included in the planning for social initiatives that they wish to see in their communities. Khana has a particular focus on empowering its Indigenous and women members and the generations that are growing up on their lands. Every local and global sale supports this mission as well as additional grants the organization procures.
